Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University The Knight-Hennessy Scholars programme at Stanford University cultivates a diverse community of future leaders from around the world by encouraging them to interact, invent, and communicate in order to better equip them to handle the difficult challenges that society is currently confronting. Scholars who participate in the King Global Leadership Programme will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge base, develop their talents, and strengthen their character through the participation in community service, workshops, meetings with prominent figures, domestic and international study excursions, and opportunities for personal growth.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Programme encompasses all seven of Stanford University’s schools. Talented individuals make up the group of scholars that are known as Knight-Hennessy Scholars. These scholars come from a variety of academic fields. You will be equipped with the tools necessary to make a significant beneficial influence on a global scale as a result of participating in this programme, which provides a platform for the intentional growth of leadership Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University

- present Stanford students applying for coterminal graduate study;
- Current Stanford PhD students adding an MA or MS degree in their present area.
- Applicants to the Honours Cooperative Programme.
- Applicants to the Master of Liberal Arts.
- Applicants to the Doctor of Science in Law (JSD).

Applicants may come from any country in the world; there are no limitations imposed on applicants based on citizenship, age, area of study, desired professional path, or any other factor.
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
Funding for up to three years is provided to Knight-Hennessy scholars, who can use it to pursue any graduate degree(s) at Stanford. Knight-Hennessy Scholars are provided with the following benefits for the first three years of their graduate studies: a fellowship that is directly applied to cover tuition and associated fees
a stipend to cover living and academic expenses (including room and board, books, academic supplies, instructional materials, local transportation, and appropriate personal expenses);
- a travel stipend that is intended to cover the cost of an economy-class ticket for one annual trip to and from Stanford.
- Additional financing that is only applicable during particular years:
- A one-time relocation compensation designed to mitigate some of the costs associated with relocating to the area and/or making technological purchases is given to newly enrolled students at the institution.
- Scholars in their second and third years are eligible to apply for supplementary funding to support academic enrichment activities (such as conference travel). These activities may include attending a conference.
Eligibility:
There are two prerequisites that must be met in order to qualify.
To begin, in addition to submitting an application to Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS), you are required to submit an application to, be accepted by, and enrol in a full-time graduate degree programme at Stanford. This programme can be any of the following: DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD programmes. You are required to be able to tick off at least one of the following four requirements:
You are applying independently but simultaneously to both KHS and a full-time graduate degree programme at Stanford, with the intention of beginning both programmes in the same calendar year.
You have already been offered admission to a full-time graduate degree programme at Stanford, but you have decided to defer your enrollment there. You plan to apply to KHS in such a way that will allow you to begin both programmes in the same academic year.
You are currently enrolled in the graduate programme at Stanford and plan to submit an application to add a second full-time graduate degree programme at Stanford. If accepted, you will begin both the KHS and the additional programme in the same academic year.
You are currently enrolled in the first year of your PhD programme at Stanford, and you plan to apply to KHS in such a way that will allow you to begin your studies at KHS in the second year of your PhD programme.
Second, you need to have graduated from an accredited institution or university in the United States with a bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent after January 1, 2017, at the latest. You must have received your bachelor’s degree no earlier than January 2017 in order to be eligible to apply to join the cohort in 2024.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University In order to be considered for the scholarship, you will need to submit separate applications to both the Knight-Hennessy Scholars programme and the graduate degree programme that you want to pursue at Stanford. The application period for the Knight Hennessy Programme will close at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time on October 11, 2023. The cutoff date for applications to graduate degree programmes at Stanford varies greatly from one programme to the next.You are need to verify the website of the programme you are interested in applying to in order to confirm the application deadline, which is typically sooner.
