Rhodes Scholarships at Oxford University for International Students The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate prizes that provide financial support to outstanding students who are also involved in a variety of extracurricular activities at the University of Oxford. The Rhodes Scholarship was first awarded in 1902 and is widely considered to be the most prestigious and greatest international scholarship programme in the world. It was established through the will of Cecil Rhodes.

Rhodes Scholars have the opportunity to pursue any postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford that requires full-time study, however there are some limits.

You can submit an application for a Global Rhodes Scholarship if you are a student who does not fall into one of the existing Rhodes constituencies.
Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
A Rhodes Scholarship will pay for all of your university and college tuition, provide you with a living stipend of £18,180 a year (for the academic year 2022/23) as well as a settling in allowance, health insurance, a visa, and two economy class flights to and from the UK for the beginning and end of your time studying in Oxford.

Eligibility:
The following requirements must be met by every applicant in order to be considered for a Rhodes Scholarship:
- Citizenship and residency: In order to be eligible for a seat in the Rhodes constituency for which they are applying, each candidate must satisfy the citizenship and residency standards of that particular district.
Your age: You must be between the ages of 18 and 24 as of the 1st of October 2023. This means that your birthday must fall between the 1st of October 1998 and the 2nd of October 2005.
OR (for candidates over the age of 30 who finished their first undergraduate degree at a later age than is typical)
- You must have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after the 1st of October 2022, and you must be under the age of 27 on the 1st of October 2023 (which means that you were born on or after the 1st of October 1996).
- Education: Applicants are required to have completed an undergraduate degree (typically a Bachelor’s degree) with an academic background and grade that is a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent which meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford.
- English Language: You need to have a high enough standard of English to satisfy the University of Oxford’s standards for English language proficiency (at the Higher Level specified).
